I amam looking at a dr ivetrain conversion in my 52 2ton dump truck. I have a 6.2 gm diesel, a built manual valve body th350 and a np205 transfer case. I need the t- case anyway to run the pto and get a low gear back.

I was thinking a gm dana 60 front end for it. Width might be an issue though. I could narrow it if i had to.

Ideas on a heavier modern axle option?
What side were the Napco pumpkins?

You might want to go with heavier axles/transfer case/transmission. GM did make a 4x4 version of the Kodiak and Topkick, which will maintain the load capacity of your 2 ton truck if you use the axles/transfer case/transmission. The automatic used in those also has a pto on it.
On Napco conversions, AD trucks and the early '55 Seconds, the pumpkin is on the left. Late '55s-'59s had it on the right.
