How about the filler panel between running board and bed? Gas tank filler neck? Anything else painted black besides the running board and chassis? I may as well be efficient when I have black paint loaded in the spray gun. Thanks!

I haven't found anything related to the later AD color scheme and don't know if GMC changed it at all. That black splash apron has me wondering what else GMC was painting differently from Chevy. I've got full Chevy specs.

| | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 | If you are wanting to be authentic, the 1952 GMC trucks had eliminated most of the chrome plating and stainless dash and were painted due to shortages during the Korean war. As a result, the bumper/s were painted black along with the front splash apron. The running board aprons were also black instead of body color as on the Chevy. The grill, parking light surrounds, hood badges and hub caps were painted an off white color with red in-fill in the recessed ares of the hub caps and hood badges.The dash had no stainless trim and was painted the interior color. The cab had the pin stripe around the belt line but the wheels were not striped like the Chevy. I did a lot of research on my '52 before painting it so think it's a good representation of what it would have looked like originally. 1952 GMC album

My truck has undergone too many arbitrary cosmetic "improvements" by previous owners to be certain about its original appearance. My finished product won't be as 100% faithful as yours but many of the essentials will be accurate. Thanks a lot! Dave
