When seperating tail shaft housing from transmission is there a gasket needing to be replaced on the 1986 Gm t5 transmission when assembling it back together? I will be replacing the drive and driven soeedometer gears. Soneone told me to use atv sealer.

They do not use a gasket for this. Use RTV. That's the way it comes from the factory.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
