I'm gonna try to read through the turnsignal directions and see if I can figure everything out. I might still need some help on routing the wires to the rear and the sending unit wire locations also. More turnsignal wiring questions might follow if I get stumped. Thanks for all the help so far. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 | Justin,
Beautiful work and nice pictures, keep it up. I think I can answer at least one question, although you had it figured out already. The posts on the ammeter DO correspond to the Discharge and Charge symbols on the front.
Charging system and loads go on the Discharge (-) side and the Charge side (+) goes to the battery/starter.

Anyhow, you will have bulbs for each of the cluster sockets and the high beam indicator goes in the bottom center of the speedometer. I think that you should also have a bulb in the ignition switch bracket. Also, the bulb for the high beam indicator is a smaller bul than the others although this really doesn't matter.
If your parking lights are original style, the socket will not just pop out, I would think. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 125 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 125 | My harness had the instructions on where all the wires go, but it just didn't have info on where all the lights go, or what kind they are. That should help me guys. Thanks. I just need to figure out how to get the sockets out of the rear lights now. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 125 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 125 | so how do you replace the parklamp sockets with the double contacts? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | You saw off the old socket & enlarge the hole so the new one will snap in. Put a little RTV around the edge to seal it. The dash lights with grey wire can go in any dash light hole. The high beam hole has a tube in it & colored lens at the face of the instument. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | |
