Hi-
I'm new here and have some questions concerning
parts for a 1935 car with a 207. I have a 1937 chev Pickup that I enjoy driving around and have had no problems with the 216. I have just purchased a 1935 master coach car with a 207 engine. I have found that the parts are only avialable in specialty houses. (filingstation.com etc..) I'm looking for a new cam gear and full gasket set to freshen this 207 up. It appears that they are close to the same engine other than some casting differencs and displacement. Does anyone know if you can use the gaskets and timing gear out of a 216 for these 207's The parts are still avialable at napa at resonable prices for 216's The 207 gaskets are double the price as a 216.

Thanks,
Brent

They are differant, as far as I know. www.kanter.com has a gasket set for $120 and gears for $50 each.

Thanks, I have visited that site also, I just
don't like it when part houses start jacking up prices for the uncommon engine when the parts are identical. You know what I mean? Anyway, I think
you are right at least the headgasket and gear might be different. I think I will take some measurements on the side cover and valve cover and the basic gaskets to see if they are the same as the 216. I will report on what I find. grin

Thanks,
Brent
