Did these have some sort of function? Never seen them before. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | The hat is steel on this year and goes on the top of the spring retainer, but is designed to shead oil. If you run without them you are likely to use a little oil.

I'm just in the middle of rebuilding my 1950 228 head, and required 6 of these, after a lot of searching: I've found they are very hard to get hold of, most people binned then and after a recon, no longer required as the Intake guides will have seals on them | | |
