Fairly new to forum, have lurked around and picked up much useful info and really appreciate it. I am replacing engine, trans, and rear in my 49 chevrolet 3100 and will have these available soon. I am in Staunton, Virginia and thought it best to post here first since items would need to be picked up. I drive truck home from auction in late December 2013. I am no mechanic, but there is no compression in no. 5 cyl. Upon pulling off the valve cover the 3rd valve or rod is rattling around, not sure which. Parts needed to transplant a 261 engine, 4 sp saginaw, and 10 bolt rear into truck will be removed. Please email me at donnie.fauber@gmail.com if interested.
