Ok. She's a 1953 3100, 6V. I'm putting it all back together using as many of the old parts that I can. I bought a new wiring harness, and signal kit. The vendor only sold front signals.

There was not a turn signal in the truck when I bought it, but today I started dismantling the front and rear park lights. Both front and rear have dual element bulbs and sockets with two contacts inside. There was a kind of switch mounted below the dask. It was a three position switch that you moved up and down, with an old fuse in the back. I still haven't figured out what that was for. Signal?

Any ideas? The turn signal kit I bought had new sockets and bulbs to replace the old stuff in the front. It more or less looks like what was there...only clean and new. I thought that I'd have to modify the tail lights, but will I?

Electrical isn't my strong suit. I want a good and functional lighting system. I'm in Italy, and they drive like mad, and I want them to be able to see me. I have been looking in the forum of some upgrades, and will try to ultimately incorporate some of these.

For now, I just need to understand what I have.

I thought in Italy the horn was the primary need, loudest horn has the right of way

if that 3 way switch was for signals, you should find it wired to a flasher unit someplace, otherwise it sounds more like a heater fan switch with the fuse on it - but sounds like someone already converted the lights for signals, with dual filament sockets/bulbs you're already set up, just need to add the proper signal unit to the column

red58, U are partially correct with the horns. The controlling input is eye contact. Don't make eye contact, and you MAY have the right of way. Right of way is a very fuzzy line. If someone doesn't respect YOUR idea of right of way, then the big horn, and mine will truly make them jump. I can't wait.

I think you're right on the heater switch, as there wasn't anything else that could regulate the fan. Although, there was no ranco valve (gotta get that sorted), and the hot water line had a rotary shutoff type valve in line. I'm rebuilding the heater now. Don't know why, as I am thinking about getting AC in the beast. But, hate to have rusty things laying around.

Strange that someone put signal sockets/bulbs in, with no controls. And, I never found a flasher unit.
