Ok rear trun signals function normally, the front, well they both blink.

Here is what I have already done. I have cleaned and reterminated all the grounds. I have checked all sockets for corrosion and none found. I have traced all wireing and removed it from looms and all tape looking for a short, none found. actually amazing condition. Checke for proper fuse and flasher and bulbs, all ok. 4 ways work at all four points. turn signals in the back work correctly. Yet still in the front both blink.
I have pulled connector off fire wall thinking maybe somehting crossing terminals or melted socket nothing. Checked flasher seems to be good. there is no wiring modification done. harness is stock harness.

I'm confused, nothing seems to be corroded and wireing seems to be fine.

It might help with future posts if you update your profile to show what kind of truck you have.

Researching your previous posts leads me to believe that the rig in question is a '61 Suburban. You have done lots of good troubleshooting hunting for this gremlin, but it could be in your turn signal switch proper.

The '6066 GMC' site shows wire color and connector location for a '61 GMC, but I don't know if Chevy is the same. My idea would be to pull the connector at the base of the column and check the appropriate color wire with a meter. This takes short and grounds out of the equation and focuses on the switch proper.

The site I mentioned calls out DARK/BLUE for RtFrnt turn signal and LT/BLUE for LftFrnt turn signal. With the connector pulled apart, and your meter attached, each wire should energize separately when you flip the turn signal lever. If both come on, you have found the problem.

Google '6066' and you will find the site and lots of great info.

If it is a 61 like Stuart says I believe the lights are in the hood. Check for the hood being grounded. Sometimes you have to put a ground wire from the hood to the cowl. A bad bulb can cause this, when one filament breaks & lays across the other. Sometimes the socket on these don,t ground where they snap into the lamp.

Ok I'm guilty, This is not the 61 burb, it's a 68 custom longbed.. No I didn't add it to the profile... I will do that now... Guess that I never imagined that it would be the "proper" I assume that you mean the cancelation gear in the steering colum? I'm going to the yard this weekend and will take the puller and get the cancelation gear and pick up a new flasher.

Those are also bad about grounds. They ground through the mounting bracket. You can run a ground wire from the mounting bolt to the body. Those have 2 liitle springs for canceling. If they break the corresponding side doesn,t cancel.

Grounds, well I cleaned them and re-terminated them. I'm wondering if it could be the signal switch in the colum? It's consistant. no matter what I do both of the fronts blink. I have noticed in the last day or so that the turn signal lever has some minor binding. I also has after market wheel installed. Not sure if that plays into the problem or not. What do you think? I have the original wheel, I'm considering putting it back on.

What do the indicators on the dash do?

The only indication on the dash is the l/h turn signal. The right doesn't flash at all. I have not pulled the dash yet to check bulb in turn signal indicator. At this time however if I turn on the r/h signal, the right dash indication doesn't do anything. The left flashes at normal rate. It doesn't even flash with 4 ways on.

Ok well I will say this. My truck has the cleanest and best grounded set of lights in the country.

Here is what I found yesterday. I went after the turn signal switch. However didn't have the right bolts for the aftermarket wheel installed. Fiddled with the switch cause I could see it just not get it out. I ended up putting it all back together and never getting it corrected.

Next I moved on to the dash lights. I found that I need a new printed curcuit assy for the dash.. that is a completely different topic. While I removed everthing off the dash and checked it out. Upon reassembly.... you guessed it the FREAKING turn signals work perfectly.

The only thing that I can thing of is that when I took out the Headlight switch I did find sme minor oxidation on the pin connections. It's all working find now. I'll Keep you all posted.
