Will a 12V bulb burn as bright using a 6V system? Given the same CP will a 6V bulb be better than a 12V or visa versa?  Thanks, Harold

Harold Use a #81 for your tail light and a #1129 for the brake light. You will have a brighter tail light than a 12V #1157 and a brake light nearly as bright as the #1157. Using a plastic lens is good advice. Also paint the inside of the housing with gloss white paint. My 6V '38 on the left with my modern 12V pickup on the right.

The reason I went LED was so that I could use my parking lights as blinkers with an amber light that could be seen during the day. LEDs are the only way I could find to solve that problem. But once you start ordering 6v LEDs from china and swapping out your blinker module to support LEDs, it makes sense to swap out the tail lights as well. | | |
