This weekend I have started to tear down my 53 to put in an acquired 235.
My question is, the 216 in it runs amazingly well. No smoke, noise, slight tap.
Has a large crack in drivers side block like most. I JB welded and drove it all winter here in NJ to and from work. Starts first time every time. Just tired of the coolant dripping wherever I go, especially my own driveway.
So is there value here? Or, should I tear down and try to sell for parts?
I was going to keep, but it's heavy to lug around and will never use again anyway. Any thoughts? Should I post on this site for sale?

According to the 235 you are using, you may end up needing the starter, clutch housing, flywheel and front engine mount.
Being a cracked block, probably wouldn't be worth as much to anyone. But the parts may be, crankshaft, connecting rods, cam and lifters (keep these parts matched to what location they are on the cam), same with rods and crank.
You might want to hang on to the water pump, according to 235 engine year, you might want to relocate the water pump with an adapter. Or someone on here might be interested in a water pump. Same with a distributor, might be of interest to some one with a 216.
Carb and manifolds also. I'd advertise it as parting out a 216 in the parts for sale section on here. Never know what someone is looking for. Just make sure you keep any parts you'll need to install your 235 engine in your truck.
Some on here have repaired cracked block with success, using a pinning method.

Don't forget to save the head to put up for sale. Someone with a cracked head may buy it.
