where can i get just the wing part for front wheel cylinders on 52 chevy 1 ton truck. i guess it is the adjustment piece

Try searching for wheel cylinder rebuild kits for 3/4 ton rears with the online part suppliers. They are the same size as the 1 ton front wheel cylinders. Just make sure to match the cylinder bore size in the description with what you got on your truck.

i looked at rebuild kits and they dont have that adjustment piece i am talking about. it looks like a wing. my wheel cylinders are all good just need adj. piece

Ah! You mean that little piece that spans along the back (yellow arrow) and fits in the little sprockets on the cap?

When I ordered my new cylinders, they didn't have them. However, I didn't seem to need it based on the procedure I used to install the new wheel cylinders and the relined pads.

NOTE: The second pic shows the difference between a front and back wheel cylinder for a 1 Ton.

yes thats it. don't u need it to adjust brakes. my front are good and the backs have the hole that the piece screws into

As long as the sprocket on the threads are moving freely, you shouldn't really need it. You rotate the outer sprocket through the slot on the backing plate (right below the yellow arrow) and with the pressure of the spring on the pads and the slotted ends of the cylinder somewhat pre-adjusted by hand, the cap stayed in place pretty well for me. I then cut the zip-ties (rear cylinder) or rubber bands (front cylinder) holding the cylinder together and pulled out the strands. I didn't spread the pads too far, otherwise getting the brake drum back on is difficult.

Those "wings" are there to stop the adjustment from moving and maybe give some feedback on the tool. I have wondered if indeed they are needed.

I doubt that you can buy them as a separate part. The ones on the repros are different than the originals. If yours are missing, you probably need to replace the cylinders.

I bought repro cylinders for the front on my 1 Ton. When I put a lot of force on the brake pedal, the thread gave way on one side. The new ones had a lot of clearance between the male thread and the outside cap and so it failed under a lot of force. I ended up using the caps and center piece from my old ones.

what center piece the wing piece not sure what u mean
