Hello all. I'm in the process of installing the newly resurfaced flywheel and a NOS pressure plate & cover assembly on a 216.

I have made sure the "O" is matched between the clutch cover and the plate. Now the shop manual says there is an "X" on the flywheel that should be aligned with an "X" on the pressure plate cover. I'm not finding an "X" on my flywheel, the old pressure plate cover or the new one. Does anyone know a specific location on these parts where the "X"s were stamped? Was this just for re-installing factory installed components and doesn't apply to new parts? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shawn

This was to retain the balance when installing the original parts. By now the original clutch is long gone & the mark on the flywheel has been ground down.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Thanks Wrenchbender. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something that would result in a bad vibration.
