Took my 52 chev PU out of storage and after a mile or two the brakes stayed on, the peddle was all the way up and could not be depressed. After letting the truck sit for an hour or so the brakes released but the peddle had very little travel and after using the brakes a few times the brakes stayed on again. Is this an issue with eh Master cylinder? Should I replace the master cyl?

more likely bad rubber hose[s] if they haven't been replaced recently, they soften and delaminate inside and wind up closing so the fluid can't return - master cyl investigation if hoses don't fix it

Check the adjustment of the pedal linkage. If it's not letting the master cylinder piston retract far enough to release the pressure in the brake lines the brakes will lock up after a few applications and stay that way for an hour or two. Sound familiar? The fix is to shorten the threaded adjustment between the pedal linkage and the master cylinder pushrod to let the piston retract past the relief port every time you take your foot off the brake pedal.

When you adjusted the brakes how many "clicks" did you back them off? If they are to TIGHT they will expand and drag. Hope this helps.

I just had the same thing happen. I had to adjust at master cylinder, once you find the sweet spot on it a little adjustment goes a long way so take your time and make small moves until you get the peddle were you need it. Then i readjusted the back pads to be a bit looser on adjustment and tweaked the parking breaks alls good now.

Might also want to consider there may be water accumulation in the brake fluid. When was last time you flushed system. Brake fluid attracts water. More than 3 % water can cause problems.
