I would like to take advantage of the offer of a windshield from a member here but I want to know for sure if a regular pickup Task Force truck has the same windshield as my 55 LCF. I will have to work out a favor to get it home and don't want to trouble my friend if it won't fit.

Thanks for the help,

Jason

yes, same. I don't know of any TF truck with a different windshield. Maybe a school bus?

Hy macgyver37, according to my parts book all the 1955 windshields are the same except for the flat face cowls, it looks like they switched to laminated safety plate with the 56B series, hope that helps.

So I don't want to assume anything, which one is the flat face cowl?

LCF is a TF, COE is AD. If you really mean LCF, it will fit. That's what you asked. A LCF is not a flat face cowl. One example, I think, is a school bus where the actual windshield/rear body was supplied by others. Chassis , fenders, hood sold by GM without a "cab/rear body".

Not a TF, but an example.

Thanks guys, mine is a true LCF. I don't think I have any pics of it at all.

I didn't remember seeing the flat face cowl reference or description before, first thing that came to mind is the 60's tilt cabover GMC/chevy that look like a cracker box.

I am now confident it will fit, now just got to talk a buddy into hauling it for me.

Thanks again,

Jason

LCF has same upper cab area as all the rest of the TF cabs. Only difference will be some floor panels, doors, front lower sides of cab etc.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

As of 10-26-2022, A 55.2 Taskforce long bed now the work begins
