I would like to get a softer ride from my 1/2 ton. I have heard stories of removal of leaves from the front springs so I was wondering has anyone done it and what advise would you give??

Thanks,
Rick.....

Elmer I had the same question that didn't get answered, Could be a safety/liability thing as to why no one answers so this is what I can say I did to mine but have not tried it yet and will be months before I can.

I know a guy that travels the car shows working for a vendor and he told me if I want to drop my 41 take out the 1st 2nd and 4th spring (smallest spring piece being number 1)and my truck is a 3/4 ton with 8 leafs so I still have 5 left, You may have less and may not want to pull that many and I couldn't say how many to do because I have no data to go by to say how low it would go per spring taken out.

Like I said it will be months before I know how mine will work out driving down the road but I should have it back on the ground in a few weeks and should be able to see what 3 leafs out did to mine by looking at it's new stance in the garage, I kept the leafs to put back in if it doesn't work.

I am cleaning, Painting and replacing bad bushings bearings and kingpins so I figured I would "try" what the guy suggested but my results may be to spongy and hard to handle, Time will tell.
