I always see different sizes for sale at swap meets.

The top of the post had a concave ball-joint type of shape. I don't know if it was stock. I bought fog lamp and casing which would mate with the post at a Great Falls swap meet. The 6-volt lamp was burned out but I installed it just for the look. When I went to 12-volt, I found a 12-volt, 5 1/4" lamp that would fit the casing perfectly! NAPA #4412A. Here are pictures of the lamp and the light pattern. I did lower the aim a bit. Fog Light Fog Light Pattern -

With that stated, I am not sure how appropriate this set of lights is for the A.D. truck. Nevertheless, I like the look. I am using a vintage lever-type switch that is maroon in color; not the switch in the box. I am also using black wire with a green tracer and not the wire as pictured. Sounds like you may have been bamboozled into thinking those Guide 5 3/4" lamps are correct by a slippery ebay seller, as GM part # 929890 {in your pictures} is actually a GM part # listed for the 1939 Chevy cars & trucks. The boxes & the lamps you pictured are definitely not correct for the 1947-1955.1 A.D trucks and the lamps are not correct for the 1939 Chevy. Nevertheless, I have these lights on my truck because I like the look/size.
