I just ordered a 25 gallon fuel tank, sending unit, and straps (for K5 Blazer) for my '47, gonna mount it behind the rear end and have the filler come out the driver side behind the fender. My truck originally had the tank under the bed and filler out the passenger side. I know a lot of people have used them, just wondering how many of you guys have and what I have to look forward to/avoid when I do the install.
Thanks.

Well the tank, straps, and sending unit came. Looks like it should fit very well, being that it's a square tank. I'll take pictures when I start the install.

I have done this swap on my 49 Sub. Tank is 02 Tahoe. Fits nicely between the rear frame rails. I had to fab the mounting straps. One thing I forgot to do is
connect the vent line. takes a long tome to put gas in sometimes 15 minutes so be sure to hook it up. I also moved the filler to the drivers side. Tank capacity is 31 gallons. Takes a second mortgage on the house to fill it up. But I am happy with it.

Good to know, and thanks for the tip. I certainly know about expensive fill-ups. I have an '04 Suburban 2500 with a bigblock, 8.1L, and it has a 38 gallon tank. If I run it low, it's an easy $100 or more to fill it up...usually two transactions also. lol

Has anyone out there removed the seat pedestal to allow for a lower benchseat when swapping out the tank in an AK. I am also in the middle of the retrofit a K5 Blazer tank to the rear frame rails behind the rear wheels, to remove the Bomb under My but in the cab. I am trying to have a rear fill as the AK is already on a 1973 K5 4x4 chassis and runnin gear? Does the pedestal bolt in or have spot welds to cut?
