I have searched and have not found the answer so I thought I would ask, on a 1953 3100 do the OG 16" 6 lug wheels have six or three hubcap clips? Thank you.

Original wheels in '53 had 6 clips.

I have looked into the same question for my 57 3100 and have determined that 55 2nd thru at least 1959 had 3 clips.

Will the same hub caps fit on both rims . My 3 clips have holes so extra clips can be added ...My 55 1st has 6 clips ....

Yes, the hubcaps fit either. According to our late GM wizard, W D Foster, the wheels with nubs were phased in over the '61 model year.
