I was wondering if anyone has a guide to tell me the rear end gear ratio of a 1965 Chevy 1/2 ton? The vin # is C1545F150363. I emailed the GM Heritage Museum and they only went back to 1977. I know the 3.73 was common to this truck, but the vin # decoders out there do not list rear end specs.

You will need to identify the rear end cause there were a lot of options. And..who knows what has been changed and what still remains. Scroll down to the 65 data sheet for details.

If you can jack up the truck, rotate both wheels one turn while couning revolutions of the drive shaft, you can get close to ratio.

My '65 ratio has been changed so factory numbers were no help.
Best of luck.
