I have a Hurst Indy shifter on my Muncie 4 speed transmission in my '55 2nd 3100. I got it off ebay for a song. It works fine, but I'm sure it has had many shifts in its lifetime. When I installed the shifter a couple months ago, I lubed it with spray lithium grease. Lately it has not been shifting as well. Today I was lubeing my hood hinges with Cornhead, and wiggled under the truck and shot some on the shifter as best as I could from underneath. Wow! What a difference! It seems the Cornhead grease is good for more than just steering boxes. I think any mechanism that has a twisting/sliding action can benefit from the application of this super slippery grease.
