I bought some 1946 GMC hubs off ebay, thinking I could use them as spares for my chevy 2 ton.
All I really wanted was the brake drums.

The hubs are different, but surprisingly to me, the wheel studs are different sizes. They both have the same size hole in the hub, but the actual nut from my chevy 2 ton wont fit - too small - on the GMC hub.

should the studs be the same size or is this working as intended, with it being common knowledge that the studs are different sizes.

Hy Jay_Brown, rather than use the term "2 ton" please use the series designation. Do you know what series your GMC hubs came from? GMCs used Motor wheels on their trucks and Chevrolet used Kelsey wheels (five studs on the front, ten studs on the rear), Motor wheels on the GMCs used the same number of studs front and rear.

if you want to refer to my truck by its designation, its here. I havent had any issues so far referring to it as a 1946 2 ton.
