For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | Mods, feel free to move this if I posted in wrong place. Anyway, the first thing I did with the '52 when I purchased it was throw the old aftermarket heater in the trash (well, actually the discard pile...ended up giving the original manufacturers label to a person in need). I then sourced all the parts for a correct fresh air 6v heater and related parts. Started straight away on the heater restoration and finished it before I even started on the rest of the truck.
Well, long story short is my goal for the truck quickly changed from 100% proper restoration to one that was more user friendly. This meant the addition of air conditioning and thus the Harrison heater would not be used. So, I have a fully restored 6v fresh air Harrison heater with rebuilt thermostat, control rod and knob as well as a NOS proper heater switch (in the original box). What to do with it all? Should I keep it and pass it along to any future owner. Or, should I make it available to someone here on Stovebolt? What would you do?

Mine is a very painstakingly done 12 volt conversion that LOOKS exactly like its 6 volts. I will pass it on to the next owner since it will match the voltage of the truck. Since I am not at the AC stage yet, not TOTALLY sure that is where I am going, but it is a worthwhile conundrum. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 165 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 165 | Although I have converted my truck to 12v I am interested in any heater if one is available. However I really need defrosters because the air is so dry in Colorado.
Thanks
