Help: I need a right-hand engine perch (frame mount) for a 66 Chevrolet C 10 with a 292 engine.
Have looked at all of the local yards and can not find one,
does anyone know of an aftermarket source? = don

Any decent parts house should have the oem engine mount, if you mean the rubber part. If you mean the the metal part that bolts to the cross member, there is a fellow on this forum named 4-5-6 trucks or something close who sells used oem parts who can probably help you. If your truck didn't come with a 292, you have two choices that I am aware of, replace the front engine cross member with one from a 292 engined truck, or contact one of the aftermarket vendors like Chassis Engineering and tell them exactly what you need. They probably have what you need. I'm sure there are other options out there. This is just an outline to get you started. Of course you can always build the mount yourself.

best wishes,

Les

If you still need the part, contact Tony Smith in Kansas City, MO at 4-5-6 Chevy trucks. I went to his shop last month and he will have the part you need. Probably a great person for you to know simply because he has about 100 trucks from 64-66 all torn down and sorted in an easy to find method. If you found the part that you are looking for, that's great. However, chances are you will need another type of part down the road. He's your guy. Good luck!
