Found a shop that sells the 235 cores for $250 CDN. What should I look for to make sure the core is rebuildable? I am going to build the engine while I look for an early 50's pickup to rebuild.

I think Iron Cheif sells cores or complete engines or something I recall...I don't knnow if I would buy from them though. Phone Scotts Super Trucks in Penhold, I was thier a few weeks ago and he has many engines. You could also look for a late 50's early 60's with a 235...I bought a 60 shortbox with a wrecked frame. It has a 235, fourspeed. Runs pretty good and I got it fairly cheap to. Eventually I am going to put it in my 53. Good luck! | | |

Scott's is the place that sells the cores for $250, haven't checked with Iron Chief yet. Thought about buying a wreck but I am short on storage right now so I would prefer a complete motor (or better yet a motor & tranny).

I was coming home today in my 62, 235, 3/4, stepside with four dogs and about 40 pieces of sod in the back and I had to have the darned thing floored to get up a slight grade at 55mph.

Do your homework and start looking for an old 60-62 GM. Don't get to anxious or you will end up paying to much for something that's not exactly what you want. Have you tried ebay?
