i have a 66 half ton with a 250 in it.
when it gets warm it whistles.
i think it's the seam between manifolds.
but it almost seems to come from both sides of the engine.

anyone ever had this same issue?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. If you get the truck warmed up and idling take a propane torch and turn the gas on low. Go along the intake to head areas, carb base gasket, if you have a leak it will suck the propane into the engine and it will speed up.

I've also heard the little one barrel Rochesters whistle when set just right. But like Don said, most likely a vacuum leak.

Did you install a turbo and forget?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. A small water bottle to spray can work too, but it will make the engine stumble instead of speed up.

Thanks for the propane tip, that's a good one!

It's been a long time since I had that problem, but if I remember, it had something to do with the mixture adjustment and the air cleaner being off.
