I posted the installation in photo bucket. The interesting thing is the anti sag spring is shown installed flipped 90 degrees in a Jim Carter photo. George shared a picture with me and I went with the door handle going through the spring loop. Either way seems to work. I was looking for the pictures of that inside spring a while back and no one had them, that's perfect! You also reminded me to order my springs from JC!
The inside spring seems like it is supposed to help the handle spring back into place. Mine doesn't spring back, and can be over-centered. I think the spring is supposed to combat that. My outside handles don't return all the way even with the anti-sag springs. I might try installing them the way you have and see if it make a difference.

By the way are those inside handle pieces original? The part the round spring is attached to looks different than my 41 and one of mine is worn out I would like to replace it if I can find a vendor that sells them, or purchase a good used one for the right side. It returns the handle, and helps to prevent over-centering of the handle. I realized I also had the "cam" flipped 180 degrees, so it wasn't resting against the stop. It will work much better now!
I had looked at your pics of how you have the return spring installed. I have mine installed as JC shows. Looking at your pics, and wear on my handles and door latch, I think that the JC way is the correct way, but that's just a guess. I'll leave mine installed that way anyways.
Now that I installed the return spring I'm going to get new links so they work more smoothly and the rubber bumpers for the window to hit on at the bottom. Just trying to get everything working properly now. Thanks for the pics, they helped a lot! | | |
