I want to improve the looks of my original 1954 steering wheel as it has accumulated 20 some cracks over it's life. I think it is going to take me several days to restore. So I'm looking for any steering wheel to use during the process. The truck is my daily driver AND I don't have a bike.

If the wheel easily popped on/off I wouldn't need another wheel, BUT, my experience indicates a far less positive experience.

Thanks

These wheels pop off pretty easily there are two threaded holes under the horn ring for this purpose. They are 5/16" I believe, blow them out with some air add a couple drops of lubricant and a small puller will have it right off. If you elect to pop it with your knees or a dead blow hammer put the nut back on so you don't lose teeth. You could source any wheel from 1947-59 I believe as a back-up they should all be splined the same.

Thanks Brad.... That is exactly what I was looking for. I'm plan to see how easy it is to pop off and on again before I get the checkbook out again.

Thanks
