For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 56 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 56 | I am going with a firewall mounted dual diaphram brake booster/master cylinder/prop/ valve combo because I need a modern split braking system as our truck is used every day and will no longer pass its yearly inspection with a single system master cylinder.
The kits are readily available but how do we handle the split master cylinder for the clutch slave? I need some type of separate clutch master cylinder to operate the slave. Is there is a retrofit unit people use with this modern brake booster system? thanks

I don't know how much room, if any, you would have in the stock location to mount a clutch master next to your booster/master cylinder. I think you will have to mount the clutch master more toward the middle of the firewall, and fabricate your own linkage to it, good luck with your project. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | Make sure you are using a dual MC system for a 1-1/2 ton truck and not the kits that are sold everywhere for the 1/2 ton trucks...they have a smaller size bore. Be safe! Mike B | | |
