Yep! More than one way to skin the same cat..:) Across the resistor or + side to ground...Get the part or the whole circuit. + side of coil to ground or _ side through the points. 12 volts and "about" 8 volts if you measure from the + side or the _ side of the resistor. It does matter where the volt meter goes. However you do it will work as long as you know where that voltage is coming from and headed to. Volts and continuity. We are gonna make some one nuts with all this stuff. But hey this is fun!
