If someone was willing to fabricate a step-type rear bumper that wraps around the bed and extends to the rear of the fenders, then incorporated a square tube receiver hitch into the bumper, that would probably be the best possible situation. That's the way people did serious towing of heavy loads back when these trucks were in daily use.
