Well according to the NAPA parts book the regulator you would need for the 12v conv would be a NAPA part number VR122 with a 30/35 amp gen. with the optional 50 amp gen you would need a VR136 regulator...... This is according to NAPA book #103 sept. 1982 ign&electrical sys parts "early Model cars&trucks"

Now if I change to the Standard Blue-Streak book (IG-68)
I get the following info;
53-62 25/30/35 amp. (except gen #'s 1102055,176,177,1105127)
will use a VR-20 regulator
Gen # 1102055,176,177 will use a VR-22 regulator
Gen # 1105127 will use a VR-30 regulator
The 50 amp Generator will use a VR-18 regulator

if needed for anyone I can also provide the corrisponding bushing/brush set ##'s for the early gen's

I hope this helps you and others
Michael
