70-717 is glass setting tape not "sealing strip". You are getting your terms confused as Bill is suggesting. I have found that tape to be too thin also. New glass is thinner than original glass. orig is .250 and new glass is .234. Not much diff but .008 per side does make a difference in this case. Measure the glass and measure the frame channel, divide by 2 and see about what thickness tape you need. I think I remember I went to SoCal and got .045. The window is held on three sides with the tape. Take off the bottom piece (sash). Real small flat head screws. That piece has a rubber piece 73-713 to be installed into it and then sash with rubber is installed after tape/glass is installed into frame. You need to study the whole door/window assembly and learn how they are installed before continuing. Bill has provided great help and I apologize for repeating some of it.
