I have a T5 out of a Astro van and one out of an s10. If I remember correctly on the one from the Astro van the shifter is 1 1/2 inches further towards the bellhousing than on the s10.
I will venture out in the cold later today and check the measurements, then report back.

Here are photos of an 1989 Astro/Safari van T5 I just bought. Pulled it from the van myself. The shifter handle is offset, but the tail housing shift box is almost the same as an S10. An S10 has the front edge of the shifter box dead even with the back edge of the main case. The Astro van T5 has the front edge of the shifter box about 2.25" further back. All of the T5 tail housings can be swapped as long as you swap the case top cover plate with it so the shifter rod is the correct length.
