I think what Classic Parts is trying to say is that the
measurement for that generator, if they had them in stock,
would be made at the case, i.e. 6" long without the end plates,
not that they sell the case only without end plates.
Immaterial anyway because as Bill points out they're out of
stock now anyway. Good tip Brad and don't forget the Stovebolt
Swap Meet truck parts for sale. I'm sure there are a ton of
those 12v generators laying around because they were traded
for an alternator.
Don't be afraid of rebuilding a used one if it needs
it gmtjr, there isn't a whole bunch to them.
