OK. This is not a question about old trucks, but where else can I turn but to the true experts?
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2WD auto with 120000 miles on it. It was time to change the transmission fluid, so I did that last weekend. Now, the transmission has a squeak that is noticibly louder before it warms up; however, the squeak does not completely go away when it is warm.
To change the fluid, I simply dropped the pan to empty the tranny. I cleaned it out then replaced the filter. Pretty basic stuff. I filled it with the recommended transmission fluid, and the level is correct, as I checked it again last night. Do you have any idea what the squeak could be and how I can stop it? Is there a "break in" period for new transmission fluid?
