When I was stationed in Okinawa a local machine shop did a lot of Babbit work, re-pouring various types pillow blocks and other cast-in-place bearings. I used to hang around and watch when I could get time off from fixing the electronics on B-52's. I'm doing a rebuild on a 1928 Model A soon, and it's possible I might have to re-pour the main bearings. A machine shop near my farm has a portable line bore machine so I'll make a mandrel a few thousandths undersize, rough-pour the bearings, and get them to do the finish boring. That should be a lot less time-consuming than scrape-fitting all the bearings! Jerry
