Backfire problem is solved. I said in another post weeks ago that I checked everything I knew might cause backfiring and concluded that the problem was not electrical. (wrong, never assume, I know better now) I had replaced the spark plugs and wires checked the distributer and still had a problem. Thanks for all the tips from you guys. The weather in the Nor'east got too cold to work outside so I consulted a knowlegable friend. Put in (indoors)new distributer cap, rotor, points and condenser inc. new vacuum advance and away she went. It seems that one cylender was not firing for some reason but now I'm on the road again. Later I'll look into putting in a HEI. Any suggestions as to what would be best for a 350 ci?
