Denny, I always use high strength red Loctite. Right now I am using Red #271 permanent.
This is when using standard outside diameter NOS full floating bushings in worn spindles.
As far as GM's thought on this, I will have to add this to my long list of questions I will ask the engineers when I meet them, LOL.
The replacement king pin sets I have seen are press in style and need to be reamed. I happen to have a lifetime supply of NOS king pins and bushings to use.
