If he has only been in the business for 37 years, he can be forgiven for not knowing about floating king pin bushings that were used on 1/2 ton trucks up to at least 54 years ago.
When I have a snug fit of the bushings to the knuckle, I do not use Loctite. I grease them every year (or, every 1,000 miles).
