I tried the black goo stuff and it never seemed to work right for me. I ordered some 3M Quick Fix Adhesive part # 0815 5from advanced auto, and it works well. The rubber will tear up before it comes off. It comes in a clear squeeze bottle and is clear. I keep it in the frig and it still works after a year. Put it on my 55 chevy convertible 5 years ago and it is still there. Allen
