Thanks guys, I did it -- when you know how it goes it's easy - when you dont know it can be a b----. I took out the dash gauges and and light cluster unit -- took the speedometer apart. Everything seemed to work ok. The only thing I think might not be working right is the little hair spring that keeps the needle at zero and lets it move smoothly when it works right. When I put it back in it worked better but not smoothly enough to be accurate. I know there are places that repair old meters but I think I'll go with new gauges and wiring to replace the old idiot lights. I have read on here that dolphin gauges and EZ wiring are a good way to go. I'm tired of not knowing how much gas I have left or how fast I'm going.
