The motor weight less than 700lbs total and each strap only sees about 350.. well within their rating.
I use a gantry crane to lift it off the dolly and if it doesn't lift level I set it down and readjust the length of the straps.
I've found the gantry MUCH more useful than an engine hoist.. and it only costs slightly more than a 2 ton hoist.
