I wanted to pass along some information regarding sources for 28160 and 28157 wheels (single piece tubeless wheels used as replacements for split rims).
I just spoke with Mike @
www.wheelsnowinc.com and they are offering 28160's for $335/wheel. Now, that is costly for sure and they currently have 10 in stock. Mike stated that they are working with an overseas manufacturer that will build them to their specifications (same as Accuride's) and will then be offering them at a more affordable $200 - $225 for a brand new powder coated 28160. (I didn't ask but I'll assume the 28157's will be similarly priced).
I aslo spoke with the sales manager at
www.stevensonwheel.com and while they do not have any 28160's in stock, in 2-3 months they will also be offering 28160's in the $200 - $225 price range. He also stated that they are working with an overseas manufacturer so I suspect it is the same at Wheels Now...
So, it seems that repeated inquiries and demand is being noticed and at least a couple places I have found are going to be offering brand new single piece replacements...
This information may be out there already but I wanted to post it anyhow to increase the awareness...
