I think a fuse is a fuse. My thought would be to use the system that had the largest selection of fuse holder-panels-boxes etc. Glass fuses are not 'new', but are still great in my book! It doesn't take a microscope to see if a glass fuse is blown...some of the new dinky blade type are hard for a old set of peepers to see.
