For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 3 | I have a 56 Chevy 4400 truck which I believe is called a 1 & ½ ton. Originally these trucks came with ball bearings in the front axle wheel bearings. These bearings are still available but as you know ball bearings are not near as durable as roller bearings. Has anyone done a conversion from ball bearings to roller bearings on the front axle wheel bearings on a 56 Chevy 4400 truck? I am familiar with converting 55 to 57 Chevy car front axle wheel bearings to roller type bearings so I hope there is also a similar conversion for the 56 Chevy big trucks. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks | | |
