what is this "button" yer pressing?
the OEM TF wiper motor has a mechanical dash switch that runs a slider on the wiper motor, the motor has one wire for 12V+ and gets ground thru the case
sounds like you might have hooked up the control cable from the dash knob with the slider in the wrong position, or yer rebuild got the internal switch position wrong -
here\'s one apart , only pic I have on hand, but I've never seen a "button" on any of them
