Ok. As some have read I am rebuilding a '53 in Italy. I just torqued down the crankshaft caps (100-110 ft lbs), as well as the connecting rods bolts (50 ft lbs).
I failed to notice that my EU purchased torque wrench is in Newtons. So, I used 110 Newton measurement, which is (according to the chart) app. 80 ft lbs.
I got it all sealed up nicely, oil pan on, and started mounting to other items on the engine (which is on an engine stand)
SO MY QUESTION: should I drop the oil pan, and re-torque the bolts, or would you leave it alone? Is there a real possibility that the bolts will back off and cause damage to the engine.
