the metal [bronze] bushings last, the rubber ones deteriorate from heat and oil, although neoprene ones may last longer - there may be 2 on the shift box arms and 2 on the trans cover arms, don't know about 6 .... if you check an auto parts store, there's bronze bushings #38374 on the HELP! rack sold as hinge pin bushings that work perfectly
