D-bar is the steel stock that is flat on two sides...kind of like a "key-way" for the Borgeson joints to be installed and fastened with the allen bolts in them.
You cut the D-bar to what ever length necessary in order to connect to the
steering column of choice. I used a Borgeson that was splined on the steering box end & D-bar at the other ... then, another Borgeson from the end of the columm
to the D-bar. I needed this set up because I moved my column about
3 inches. Had to move it slightly to accommodate a column shift and clear
the 455 Buick I shoehorned in there! It also cut down the angle of the steering shaft to the box itself.
